Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

TabShame does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything runs locally on your Mac. We have no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, and no interest in your browsing habits.

What TabShame accesses

TabShame uses macOS Automation (AppleScript) to count the number of open tabs in supported browsers (Safari, Chrome, and Edge).

It reads only the tab count — never URLs, page titles, page content, or any other browsing data. This is the sole reason TabShame requests Automation permissions on first launch.

Data collection

None. TabShame does not collect personal information, usage analytics, crash reports, or any other data. There is no network activity. The app works entirely offline.

Third-party services

TabShame does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services. Payment processing for purchases is handled by Stripe via our website — Stripe's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.

Sound effects

Notification sounds used in TabShame are sourced from SampleFocus.com and are used under their Standard License (royalty-free, no attribution required).
